Below is a video we will use for our study. It is from a talk show called "The Atheist Experience".  Watch the video, then we will look at what is happening with all the parties involved.

Note: All people involved in these conversations share a common trait...they do not have a working knowledge of Jesus Christ, and therefore do not have answers to the questions that plague them...

They also are unaware that questions plague them...because they believe they have valid, logical, reasonable answers already. What we are going to study is why, and what we are supposed to do about it.

                           WHAT IS REASON ?

Warning! This study may cause knowledge, understanding, and compassion.

"But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
-Luke 12:48 (KJV)

This is a literal warning. If you receive little from men? What about from God? Who is responsible for mankind...man?

One of the main causes for this belief atheist have, is a belief that our God is a tyrant God. They believe this because it is what they are told...by the people they think follow this God, and what they teach. Mainly the lie that God will punish people that do not "obey" Him.  They have been taught that God is a God of condemnation, and punishment. Many Christians have bought into this lie as well. The fact is, although the Bible does say that those that refused Jesus, and His atonement will be "cast into the lake of fire", what is not written, but is added by Christians is the words...

"God will cast them into this fire as a punishment for their sins"

This is not true

This is a common misconception, and a complete study on it's on. Just to note here, when one involves himmself in the arena of Christian Apologetics, one will incounter controversy. Some of you may feel the urge to argue with this statement already, and think, "but God is going to punish..." This is a good place to start. This is after all an argument about facts, interpretation, conception, and plain old opinin. Just to note here we have injected this controversy at the begining of this study because it is the core reason behind atheism, and atheist would actually be justified in denouncing God if it were true. For those of you that feel it is, we challenge you to find a verse that says God will cast people into a lake of fire. Good luck, and welcome to Apologetics. Actually, people are headed there as a result of their own choice, by refusing the One that is trying to keep you from going there. Note: Later on in this study, we will address these and other misconceptions that are being taught as truth, and look at what Scripture actually says about them. If it isn't Biblical, it will not be part of this study. If it is, we urge you that feel it isn't to comment, and start a discussion. This is what the controversy of Apologetics, and the delivering of the doctrine and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is about. We urge you to actively participate, and discussions will be held in the forum here @ CSF

What exactly is Christian Apologetics? Why Aplolgetics? Why concern ourselves with this study? Below are two videos that we feel best explain these questions from Dr. R.C. Sproul

                                 Part 2  Why Apologetics

There are as many definitions of atheism as there are opinions. For our study, we want stick with pointing out things that should be obvious, but are not to some. First is this fact: These people are not stupid. They are, in fact, being very logical, and very reasonable by not believing in a God. Why? Simple. They have no proof of one. Why not? Simple again. Because we haven't given them any. Apologetics is first and foremost the very core of evangelism. To be able to give someone proof of anything...you would first of all have to have proof. So let's get busy learning the proof of our profession...Apologetics is a science of presenting an argument, and providing information to those that don't yet have it.
